Terms of use
Last updated: 21 October 2026
These terms apply when you use MedDeadline, whether or not you have an account. By using the site you agree to them. Please read them alongside our privacy policy and cookie policy.
Who we are
MedDeadline is run by [Company legal name], company number [Company number], registered office [Registered address]. You can contact us at [Contact email].
What MedDeadline is
MedDeadline lists portfolio-building opportunities for medical students and foundation doctors in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, such as conferences, electives, research, prizes, teaching and leadership roles, courses, and audit or quality improvement projects.
MedDeadline is an independent service and is not affiliated with any organiser, medical school, Royal College or NHS body. Details are checked by our team but can change; always confirm dates, eligibility and costs on the official source before applying or paying.
Checking the details
We check every listing against its official source before we publish it and show when it was last checked. But organisers can change deadlines, eligibility, costs and dates at any time, and mistakes can happen. Always confirm the details on the official source before you apply, pay or book travel. Any application, booking or payment you make is between you and the organiser, under their terms. We are not responsible for an organiser's event, decisions, fees or refunds.
No guaranteed outcome
A listing on MedDeadline does not guarantee a place, acceptance, a prize or any result in foundation, specialty or other applications. We do not tell you how an activity will be scored by any recruitment process; check the current guidance from the relevant recruitment body. Nothing on the site is careers, medical or legal advice.
Your account
- You must be at least [16] to create an account and at least 18 to subscribe to Premium.
- The career stage and other profile details you give us are self-declared. Please keep them accurate so your feed is useful.
- Keep your password safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Each account is for one person.
Free and Premium
Anyone can browse, search and filter verified opportunities and read their full details for free. Premium adds a personalised feed, saved opportunities with application tracking, email deadline reminders and side-by-side comparison.
Premium subscriptions
- Premium is billed monthly or annually, at the price shown on our pricing page when you subscribe [including VAT where applicable]. Payments are processed by Stripe.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. We will remind you before an annual subscription renews.
- You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancelling stops the next renewal: you keep Premium until the end of the period you have paid for, and we do not refund part-used periods except as described below.
- If we change the price, we will tell you at least [30] days before it applies. The new price starts from your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
Your 14-day right to cancel
If you are a consumer, you have the right to cancel your first Premium subscription within 14 days of buying it without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Because Premium starts as soon as you subscribe, at your request, we may deduct a fair amount for the time you had Premium before you told us you were cancelling. To cancel, email [Contact email] or use the cancel option in your account. We will refund you within 14 days, using your original payment method.
This does not affect your other legal rights, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if the service is not provided with reasonable care and skill. [Confirm renewal reminder and cancellation wording against the subscription contract rules in the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024.]
Sponsored placements
Organisers can pay to appear in clearly labelled “Sponsored” spaces on the site. Sponsored placements are kept separate from our verified listings. Payment never buys a place in the verified listings, a higher position in them, verification or a “Verified” badge. Sponsored content is the sponsor's responsibility; check their terms before you sign up for anything. Advertise with us.
Using the site fairly
You must not:
- copy, scrape or republish the listings in bulk, or access the site with automated tools without our written permission;
- try to get around Premium access controls, share your account or resell access;
- interfere with the security or running of the site; or
- use the site for anything unlawful.
Our content
The site's design, text and listing summaries belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Organisation names and logos belong to their owners.
Links to other websites
We link to organisers' and sponsors' websites so you can apply or find out more. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited. Otherwise:
- we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill, but not for loss that was not foreseeable;
- we are not responsible for fees, travel or other costs you pay to organisers or anyone else, or for opportunities you miss because details changed; and
- the site is for personal use, so we are not responsible for business losses. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Suspending or closing accounts
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close a paid account without a good reason related to your conduct, we will refund the unused part of your subscription.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. We will tell you about significant changes before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel and close your account.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts, and the mandatory consumer law of where you live still applies.
